Actually, it's not that bad. I brought down both the R1 and my YZ450F in motard trim. I was afraid of getting run over on the straights as well. But, had no issues. The back of the track is where the action is.
Riding the motard was the best thing for me this past weekend. It allowed me to pick the lines a little better, then harder/faster and I transitioned it all very nicely onto the R1. From there, it all started to click a little better. This was only the third time I've been back on a sportbike since '06.
