Since I found out about Mike's accident on Monday morning, I have to say he has been on my mind non-stop. I pray for him and his family and hope that he pulls through. This thread is about Mike, so I don't want to take the focus off him but I have been thinking a lot since I heard about him in regards to the risks of track riding. I know all the logical explanations as to why the track is safer than the road and how to explain it all, but with the recent slew of incidents from Dan Wheldon to Marco Simoncelli and now Mike, it is making it hard to reason that I should get back into track riding as each hit closer to home. I've never lived in fear of anything believing that if something is supposed to happen it will, but with a five week old daughter and me being the sole income for a family now, it makes me stop and think if getting back into track days is the right decision. I know I will be back, it is just time like these that you pause and think about it. However I also know Mike would be disappointed if I didn't and that he was doing something he loved when tragedy struck. C'mon Mike...pull through... |

I can't say I've personally met Mike, but his leathers look familiar. I'm praying for a quick, complete recovery! |
