Hey everyone, been away for awhile; I wish I could go with you all down to Jennings, I'm already going through withdrawal. I didn't make it to Mid-O this past summer with STT so its on my list for 2010; if you look on Mid-O's website they have a schedule for 2010 out already but they don't list any Org for those days. And I thought I read a post somewhere (maybe WERA board?) that STT wasn't doing any days there in 2010. So it looks like Mid-O wants all their track days to be "in house"? Is there any talk of another Org doing days there next year? And I wonder how an "in house" Mid-O day would be? |

There was some talk last season about NESBA getting back to Mid-O but I never heard anything more than that. I think the whole deal with STT/Mid-O was dumb to start with. Having different orgs run a given track is always the best solution, at least for the riders. |

Mid-O and STT definitely had a falling-out. It happened late in the season and my understanding is that Apex 2 Apex ran the remaining trackdays at Mid-O. I'm assuming that they will be running the days this year as well? I get the feeling that whatever org is doing it, they are doing so in almost a contractor basis. In other words, it's an in house Mid-Ohio trackday and they are contracting A2A (or whoever) to run the day. I didn't hear any really negative comments about the days that were run by them last year. I'm definitely planning on doing some Mid-O days in the up-coming season. |

I will be the first one to say that Mid-O is super-slick with just a slight drizzle on the track. I crashed at the end of long back straight (the one with the slight kink) and ended up in China Beach. I think it was STT's last day at Mid-O before the falling out. My bike ended up about 10 feet from an STT track day coach who crashed about 10 seconds before I did. I didn't actually see him crash, he was too far out in front of me, but I was the next bike through, and we both crashed in the same area. They had driveway sealant on the track, which is what most likely caused the crash. I had slowed down quite a bit, but obviously not enough. I still love the layout at Mid-O, and I'll probably go back, but I won't ride there unless the weather is sunny and warm. |

I would love to do Mid-O. I see that A2A only has one day scheduled at Beaver so far. I e-mailed them to see if they are planning on any Mid-O days this season. Hopefully they will. Any input on the Apex 2 Apex organization from anyone that has ridden with them? I hope they are not like Roger Lyle-he does not have any problem NOT limiting the number of total people at a given event i.e. one 15 minute session every 1.5 hours-totally sucks. |
