This may be a dumb question but what do you guys do about insurance? I never looked to see if my moms insurance (im still in college so i can just stay on hers) covered the track. I know my dads does not if i was on something motorized. I am not looking for ins for the bike just for me. Have any ideas? |

you need to look at your policy and see what the exclusions are. typically if it is not explicitly excluded it is covered though most policies do exclude track. mine excludes anything at a "facility designed for racing" so that's that. |

sorry i did not read your post correctly - thought you were talking about the bike. my health basically says that if it's covered under a vehicle policy that policy pays first. |

Insurance can be a pain for a track or any motorcycle injury in PA. THere is no medical coverage for motorcyclists in PA for a single vehicle accident. Therefore I've had to deal with several denied claims due to them wanting the auto ins to cover it and they do not. So it takes several phone calls and emails and forms to get it all straightened out. Best option is not to get hurt, as if that wasn't evident already |

Here in MN, you have to request a medical rider on your motorcycle policy. Since I don't ride street, I only carry comprehensive and medical. It costs me $275 for a year with four bikes. I verified with my insurance agent that I would have medical(accident) coverage in case something happened and he assured me I would. http://www.countryfinancial.com Give them a call and see what they say. It may be different depending upon the state you're in and if they're allowed to carry there. |

Also, what about health insurance in general? They should cover it if they haven't explicitly stated so. I know one of the guys over on the R1-Forum carries Aflac catastrophic insurance and had to use it a couple of times from track injuries. |
