Anyone have any feedback? I really wanted to be smitten with the 9/10 R1 but I really wasn't. It feels bigger and heavier than my 07 (which it is). It started to tip in easier than mine does but it did not feel as good once in the turnand did not feel like it held the line as well. I think the way that the cross-plane motor delivers power is a bit deceptive as it does not feel like as much of a kick in the ass as the older motor. It feels like a truck motor down low and a twin (out of breath) on top? Nice bike but I like my 07 better. Wish I would have ridden the R6 on Sunday but I did not feel like doing it in the pouring rain, assuming they allowed it in the first place. Major props to NEBSA either way for letting us ride these bikes where they were intended to be ridden ![]() |

I have to say your dead on with how I felt about the R1. Compared to my 03 R1 it seemed underpowered. I know that seems weird considering my 03 R1 dyno'd at 143hp while the new 2010's have 20 more hp but it delivers the power very wierd. It felt very heavy and big, a long reach if your a smaller framed guy. |

I rode the R6. Very light compared to my 636 and I so badly want a slipper clutch. ![]() |

slipper is da'shit - my R1 has one but the Daytona does not, probably my next mod. |

I agree, about the slipper...its just one less thing to worry about, which is a big help for my skill level ![]() |

I rode the R6 and loved it, i could feel a noticable weight difference compared to my suzukis. Also i know that they are supposed to thrive in the high rpms but i was just out there putting around under 14k most of the time and i was impressed even at the power and smooth delivery it had at those rpms. I felt very comfortable on it. Also the slipper clutch did help for the accidental down shift i had coming out of the carousel. Too much thinking for me with the standard shift. ![]() |

my impression was that overall it was a very good bike. felt lights, steering was easy, transitioned nicely. for me personally i felt like i was sitting on top of the bike a bit to much, but i just like the seating position of the gixxer where i sit down in. stock suspension was a little soft imo, brakes were pretty good. the mid range power is pretty bad but holy crap it pulls when its up top. |

I agree with Justin about sitting on top of the R6, feel like I am way up in the air. Could probably adjust the bars and pegs to help with that. |
