This is way off but since there has been some interest about it i will post up. Last year Jr. and i made the trip down to CMP the weekend before thanksgiving. It is with STT and Mark Sheldon is the souther director, he is a good guy adds a little humor to the morning meeting and doesn't go on to no end. He is pretty straight cut and dry on what you will expect and if you want to make bonehead passes you can leave for the day.
With STT intermediate can pass inside and out with a 6ft cushion and in A its a free for all. The over all atmosphere with running with the southern STT guys is really relaxed, and everyone is out to enjoy themselves.
Last year we rented a garage for 50 bucks a day it was nice but not necessary however you do get power with it and the more people you have the cheaper it is. With 4 bikes it would be 25 bucks for everyone for the weekend, Yes 4 bikes can fit in there pretty easily.
Anyhow it was cold as hell when we drove down friday 18 degrees to be exact but saturday warmed up to the mid 50's. Sat night it never got below 40 and sunday it was mid 60's during the day. The track had lots of grip for it not being 80 degrees and blazing sun, i had one slip when i got a little greedy with the throttle. The year before they said it was 70 degrees all weekend.
The track is 2.3 miles long with a good variety of differnt turns, high speed kink and elevation changes (no beaver but still some). This is not a high speed track (speeds comparable to beaver), the front stretch is not very long but is a good overall challenge of your ability.
This is my favorite track right besides beaver
There are a few motels around which i hear were pretty cheap around 60 bucks a night, other then that there is much around besides a chinese buffet which is right on point after riding all day saturday.
Jr. can chime in with anything else
I will be going down again this november, last year i believe we paid 235 for both days and that included our lunch.
