Now that I got a new trailer, obviously need to set it up for hauling the bike (or possibly 2 bikes at some point). Since I'm not going to splurge right now for a PB trailer restraint setup, just going to go with a the good 'ol simple wheel chock setup. Was thinking of getting the basic HF wheel chocks ( http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle ... 96349.html), anyone have any experience with them? I want to say that Mike had used them before, but can't remember. I've seen tips by people who say to mount the mounting plate and chock to the trailer using clevis pins for quick install/de-install. Anyone ever try this? Seems like it should work.

I would suggest moving up to the HF MC stand / wheel chock - http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle ... 97841.html I have to imagine it will have a stronger grab on the wheel, and I don't like that the HF wheel chock looks like it could make contact with the rotors. I use the stand / wheel chock on my trailer and it works great. I would just suggest safety wiring the pin clips as they are not too stout. Motorcyclist magazine has HF coupons every month. The April 2012 issue has a coupon for the stand / wheel chock for $45.99.

Nate, I have a pair of the ones you linked. I think I paid like $29.95 for them on sale. No issues with using them. My only complaint is that it can be a bit hard to roll the bike out especially if you roll it in with hot, sticky tires.
The ones Matt linked look nicer but I have never used them.

I've used the basic chicks, harbor freight, baxley sportchock and pitbull restraints.
My preference order is pitbull, baxley, generic and than the harbor freight. As mike mentioned the HF is hard to pull out and doesn't hold the bike very well during tiedown. Baxley holds the bike well and can be a bit tough to pull out. Generic is the cheapest option and if the idea is to upgrade I would go that route.

My only issue with other HF chock is how wide it is, I don't think I could fit 2 side-by-side on the trailer if I wanted to haul two bikes.
My dad has a couple generic pingel chocks, maybe I can just snag them from him for free.

I like the HF ones like mine better than the simple roll in type if only because they will support the bike while you strap it down. While I would not drive around with the bike in the chock without straps it will stay there just fine till you get your straps on.

Thanks for the feedback. Matt, you experience the same issue as Mike with it being hard to roll out if you roll it in on hot sticky tires? Just trying to determine if the more expensive chock is worth the money.
