I'm swapping my oil and filter every 2, I'm sure it's over kill but it's sort of cheap insurance. Used to be really cheap w/rotella & purolator but with a shitzuki it's hard to find a good, cheap aftermarket filter like the pureone...

I do mine after 3-4 days.
On a side note, I found with my gixxer that maintenance on it was a pain in the arse a lot of time because Suzuki had to use something different than everybody else (different part, size, etc).

Since I use my bike for both the street and the track...for every trackday I do I knock 1000 miles off my interval. Since I do oil changes every 3K, this month it will be at 2K since doing Beaverun. My bike has 35K miles on it and that's been the way I have been doing it with no problems at all since new.
