found a harness for $50 shipped so I picked it up. going to try that and then an ECU if it's still doing stupid shit and if that does not work I'm done with it.

for some reason something about that bike just draws me into further degrees of mechanical (and financial) masochism.

yeah, you have lots of time into that bike, It would suck giving up on it in my opinion. Give those two things a shot, and Hopefully it works out for ya! GOOD LUCK!

got the harness yesterday. looks like it's in one piece. i'll probably test the thing as much as i can before i try putting it in.
got the tires on the gix and changed the oil so i can roll it aside till it's next outting and make some room to start tearing into the 675 again.
now just to find the time...

put it back up on stands, took off all the plastics, got the tank, airbox, intakes, etc. off. Put a set of clip-ons back on it, clearing out everything so i can get to the harness. just need a few hours to get the new harness in an see if that does the trick or at least gives direction - which i sort of doubt.
