Anyone use'em? Need to do something before I go deaf. Any suggestions as to which ones? I hate the little foam ones from my shooting days. Actually always wore ear muffs cause ear plugs sort of bug me. Don't them make something like custom formed ones or something of that ilk?

I use the regular foam ones like these for years http://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-Max ... 288&sr=8-1Now I did try these http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.aspx before and i didn't care for them....they were uncomfortable and didn't work well inside a helmet. I always ride with earplugs. I've had Shoei's and Arai's but there is still always wind noise and after working around aircraft for years I need to protect my hearing the best I can...it really doesn't take much to damage your hearing. I even wear earplugs when I got to a club or concert...the music can seriously damage your hearing...do I look like a dork...yeah but at least I will be able to still hear when I'm in my sixties.

i'm getting to the point of where my ears are ringing after a ride or a track session, after a long ride sometimes even to the point of giving me a headache.
suomy's are pretty loud too, not that my shoei is much better (if at all).

as long as you find ones that are comfortable then your good to go. the custom ones probably are the best but they are expensive.

I don't mind the cheap ones, i often loose them or they roll out from the helmet. The ones my dad got have a case to them and yeah a little pricey at 60 bucks.

silv - where did your dad get the custom ones made? i think that's the route i will probably go. i am going to try to grab some wal-mart types first and see how they work out.

there is a vendor that goes to carlisle bikefest that does custom ones. He has the mold machine with him and then sends the plugs like a week later. Not sure how much $$.
