The 800cc bullshit is officially over in 2012 and 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, 1000cc motors are back. The main limitation appears to be bore size, set at a max of 81mm. This is aimed at controlling how many rpm's designers can get out of the new motors but interestingly enough is larger than most if not all current liter super bikes - a move to possibly keep from pissing WSBK off too much? Anyway, hope that Rossi sticks around long enough to ride a liter again. I believe this will be a good thing for MotoGP. It should level the playing field a bit and give some of the riders that weigh more than 100 lbs (Ben Spies, Hayden, Edwards) a bit more of a chance against the Pedrosa fly-weights...

i hope they also remove some of the electronics and let the guys that can ride (rossi) make the guys that can't (stoner) look like the little whiny pussies they are.
from what i read the spec for the premier class is an "evloving" thing so now that they have spec'd the motors the rest of the bike should be hashed out soon enough.
