If its cold how will the slicks work? will they stay up to temp?
I will be getting new rubber and think I'll go with soft compounds because it will prolly be under 60.
I'll talk with Jason and see what he says.

Actually most will tell you to go the other way. Softer compounds are meant to run at higher temps and can cold tear more. Harder compounds can resist tearing better and work at cooler temps.
Colder days are a bit of a conundrum, you got to go faster to build heat, but you can't go faster till you build heat. So you use warmers and progressively up the pace and ride semi-aggresively to try and get the carcas to flex and work harder to biuld heat.

what should the temps be like? i poked around a bit on-line and it seems like mid-60's are par for the course for mid-february at jennings.

The average temp for Dec is actually 64 and Feb is 66, but they're getting as high as 78 degrees forecasted this week. January is the coldest month and we've had as high as 75. Unfortunately the weather is the weather, so we'll just say it's going to be 70 and sunny. Either way it should be a good 40-50 degrees warmer than what we have here. Last year when we went our highs were 28-30 and their highs were 68-72. Just send the $$$ and plan on having a good time. It's a good griuyp of riders going. A ton of open track in B and I (right now about 10 interested/paid in each group) and of course fire pits and beverages in the evening. How could you go wrong.

Jennings has tons of grip - reminds me of BVR. I went once in Feb and once in March and each time the highs were in the mid to upper 70's...
